3W (Wei Rong, Wu Erlu and Wang Hao)

The explosion of creativity in China over the last 30 years looks not only at the arts of the West over the last half century, but also at recent or contemporary issues in its own cultural history, which Mao, like Stalin in Russia, had tried to control for more than a full generation. It is in this spirit that 3W’s paintings offer a personal view of an earlier, equally important moment in Chinese history.
